Every year millions of plastic bottles are taken to landfills or dumped in the ocean which leads to pollution and killing animals. According to habitsofwaste.org, "Last year, the average American used 167 disposable water bottles, but only recycled 38."My school has brought in a recycle box for plastic in honor of Earth day, but we need to make a change regardless of the cause. If we continue to ignore this problem then it will get to the point where we cannot fix it. 

Having a place to recycle bottles is extremely important to me because I have seen the amount of plastic wate in parks and streets. As an animal owner I cannot stress how scared I am to walk my animals because they try to chew on the plastic bottle caps or even just the bottle. The plastic ends up hurting them by cutting their gums or even worse if they end up swallowing it.

I understand that people have insisted on using reusable bottles instead, but how many people actually use them? From what I have seen in my community there are more people using plastic then reusable. Most people have to drink from plastic bottles because their tap water is infected or isn't as "good" as tap.

A way we can all change this is by bringing in plastic recycle bins to each and every city. We can also try to install water tanks in city's to help persuade people to use reusable bottles instead. However, we cannot accomplish any if this without our Senate and Governors help.
