During the race for the presidency, Mr. Trump made several claims against his opposition. One of the main focuses of his attacks was the fact that he believed that Hillary Clinton was “the most corrupt person ever to seek the presidency".

Despite the fact that Donald Trump has repeatedly promised to release tax returns, he has shown no signs of actually following through with his promises to the nation.

There are numerous claims stating different motivations for Mr. Trump to be receiving funding from Russia. Perhaps this is one reason why Mr. Trump has also indicated his deep vested interests in making peace with the nation we were once in a cold war with. However, we must use these valid concerns to urge him to release his tax returns because we cannot have a president who can put national security at threat in order to benefit personally (i.e, for his businesses).

This forces us to question whether Mr. Trump is hiding the fact that he has evaded taxes or made false claims about his business acumen. If either of the both cases is true, the president-elect would be unfit to lead the nation since he would have won votes on false claims of never breaking the law or having the adequate business acumen to rebuild America’s economy.

If Mr. Trump has nothing to hide, we urge him to release his tax returns. If he refuses to do so, the American people will have no doubt that the president-elect is hiding something from the nation, which goes against our belief of transparent governance

We as Americans deserve the right to know about our President-Elect's tax filing history and we are writing to you to force him to release his tax returns or remove him from the presidency. Please mandate President-Elect Donald J. Trump to publicize his tax filings.
