They are getting hunted in abundance for sport or profit at rates too fast for them repopulate. They are classified as endangered species because they have a population so low that they are very likely to die off completely. Why do we care though? Well, this is an issue because humans depend on a good biodiverse ecosystem to have a good quality of life. Not to mention natural biodiversity is a huge tourist attraction, which helps support local economies, all around the world. Humans will also be highly affected by the ecosystemic collapse if that were to happen.

But all is not lost, many organizations are working around the clock to stop habitat loss and deforestation- the main causes of animal endangerment- but they need our help. There are many ways you can help, such as using less pesticides, voting yes on protection acts and bills, and signing petitions such as this one.
