On February 24, 2022 Russia has launched a devastating attack on Ukraine, a European democracy of 44 million people, bombarding its cities and closing in on the capital, Kyiv, prompting a mass exodus of refugees.

This is a continuation of the military invasion of Ukraine started in 2014, when Russia used a democratic revolution in Ukraine as a pre-text to send in troops and separatists/terrorists to Crimea and Eastern part of Ukraine. The goal was to capture all Russian speaking territories of the Eastern Ukraine. The plan partially failed and it was only able to take over Crimea and small portion of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

On March 1st, an op-ed was published in LA Times titled: "The ultimate sanction: Listing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism."

As the author elaborated, Russia has clearly been involved in state-sponsored terrorism for years and had multiple instances of it confirmed, not even including war crimes and terrorism in Ukraine.

I request the US Department of State to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism to finally put the label on the actions it taken against it's own sitizens as well as citizens of other countries.
