I have never done anything like this, so, please forgive me if I sound crazy or unprofessional. I have been accepted to move into a HUD apartment in Toccoa, Georgia. I currently live in Douglas, Georgia. The main reason I am making this petition is because I was told you could only have one pet living with you in a HUD apartment. But there is a problem with this. I have 3 pets, 2 small dogs and a cat. They are my family. How would you like it if someone told you to pick just one child of yours to keep? I think it is unfair that I couldn't have my pets. I am paying to live there. I will pay more in rent if it means keeping them. Shouldn't I be allowed to have my pets there as well? Its heartbreaking to think I may have to rehome my pets, just so I can move. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Is there something that can be done where I, and others could keep their pets living in a HUD facility? People living under the poverty line shouldn't be punished this way. For many of us, our pets may be the only thing we have that makes living this way just a little bit easier. l love animals so much. This is very important to me. If you can allow children, then you can allow pets! It's time to STOP telling people they cannot have pets while renting. I will say again; if you can allow children, then you can allow pets!
