Maria Sokolovo started this petition to U.S. Department of Education

Paganism has been oppressed and misrepresented repeatedly in media and real-life and it's affecting neo-pagans. If we teach about it in schools, we can talk about it in religious education and history class- properly explaining what it is and what pagans believe in.

The trouble modern Day witches go through because of their religion isn't something anyone should have to go through, nor anything anyone has to go through. So why are they? It's because no one's done anything yet.

People don't know what's going on and they don't have a reason to care. Here's why they should care: the voice. Neo-pagans don't have a voice today because they've been oppressed. No one recognizes them as someone with a valid religion. It's not taught about in schools like Judaism or Christianity, so what makes it different? What makes people ignore pagans like this?

They have the same rights as everyone else and should treat their religion with the same respect we give others. So please sign this petition and spread it to anyone who doesn't know. Thank you all so much!
