I am currently serving my 18th year as active duty military (U.S. Army). I have spent over five years of that in a combat zone in the Middle East. I was promoted to SFC E7 on May 1st of 2013. I received a letter on January 24th 2014 stating that I was being reduced in rank to SSG E6 because I didn't complete an online class that I did not know I had to complete back in March of 2013. Had I known I would have gotten this class done. I believe I should be given back my rank due to the fact that it was taken based on something that was beyond my control. A person can get a DUI and not lose their rank if they are an E7 or above. They would get a letter of reprimand. But I don't complete an online course that I didn't even know about and I get stripped of the best thing that has happened to me in 18 years. I have never been in trouble and have served with honor my whole career. Please please help me get this petition signed and right the wrong that has been done to me.
