Last week, we helped to organize a call with a representative from Senator Bill Nelson’s office, along with several organizations who have been fighting against the construction of this terrible pipeline. The group took a few minutes to share our concerns about how the project was permitted and the multiple instances when the environmental impacts of the pipeline were ignored in order to push it through. One speaker noted that the vast majority of people living in the path of the pipeline are low-income and people of color, and this project threatens our health, our water, and Florida’s natural resources. Senator Nelson’s representative listened carefully, and promised to get back to us with a response from his office.
