As a result of Brexit, the cost of taking your dog, cat or ferret to Europe has risen dramatically, but this is due to the U.K. vets charging a ridiculous amount for the new pet health certificate. The government has suggested on its petition page that we start a petition to provide animal health certificates at a fixed and affordable cost so here I am, looking for your support to stop Vets from this appalling profiteering. 
my 3 dogs are rescues, two came from Spain, these new and extra costs will also seriously affect rescue organisations and as a result of greed, more animals will suffer unnecessarily. 

my local vet who happily charged a small fortune for my U.K. dogs passport now wants to charge us £125 per dog for these certificates whereas previously the only extra costs after the passport was for the tunnel or ferry. I ascertained that the charge is not a fixed one and so it is pure greed to be charging that kind of money. 

I know this is not one of life’s vital petitions, but it affects a lot of folk and their beloved companions and I’m sick of vets charging ridiculous prices totally unnecessarily.
