As COVID-19 continues to spread through Tyson plants across the country, The Humane League is partnering with over 120 environmental, worker advocacy, and animal protection groups to take on Tyson—together!

We are tired of Tyson’s weak excuses. If you are also sick of Tyson’s ongoing lack of meaningful action for its workers, public health, and animal welfare, then join us in our collective “Week of Action Against Tyson”! RSVP at this link at any time to get access to a toolkit! To help even more, you can also take the following quick actions below:

  • Action 1 - Call Tyson’s Media Contact & Senior Director of Public Relations, Gary Mickelson, at 479-290-6111. (Note: The phone number may ring for a while, but eventually connects to a voicemail.)
Example script: Hello, Mr. Mickelson. Have you been seeing all of the comments on Tyson’s social media channels? I’m joining more than 120 organizations in their week of action against Tyson because I am sick and tired of seeing Tyson refuse to take responsibility for its behavior. Your own coworkers are getting sick from COVID-19 by the thousands, and all because Tyson leadership won’t give them adequate protections. Tyson also operates factory farms, which are horrible for animals, public health, AND our planet. It’s time to please do the right thing and urge Tyson executives to adopt more progressive policies.
  • Action 2 - Comment on Tyson’s Facebook post to let them know that consumers demand real change! Use the following sample as inspiration for your own comment:
@TysonFoods, when will you stop putting profits above everything? I’m joining more than 120 organizations in their week of action against Tyson because I am tired of seeing Tyson refuse to take responsibility for its unethical behavior. Your workers and the animals in your supply chains deserve so much better. https://www.change.org/p/tyson-stop-neglecting-workers-animals-and-public-health
  • Action 3 - Engage with THL’s latest LinkedIn article about how Tyson broke the food system by commenting, tagging @Tyson-Foods, and sharing it!
Sample comment: @Tyson-Foods really is responsible for creating our broken food system. From the way it treats the animals it packs by the thousands into factory farms, to the abusive policies that put its employees in grave danger during a pandemic, Tyson has shown time and again that all it cares about is profits. Shame on you, Tyson!

We appreciate your support and dedication to building a better world for people and animals alike!

PS: Please continue to share this petition with your networks. The more signatures we gather, the more pressure we can put on Tyson to change!
