“We may be feeding America, but we’re sacrificing our own selves.” - Tyson Foods employee to the New York Times

As Tyson continues to make headlines for its inadequate worker protections—which continues to result in COVID-19 hotspots in communities in which Tyson operates—the giant meat corporation has now also reverted back to its pre-coronavirus sick leave policy that punishes employees who don’t show up to their shifts. And all the while, thousands of Tyson employees (who are forced to come into work during a pandemic or risk losing their jobs) keep falling ill.

Due to Tyson’s complete lack of meaningful action, The Humane League recently released a new video to educate the public about Tyson’s long history of wrongdoings.

Let’s remind Tyson Foods that consumers won’t support a company that refuses to take responsibility for the health and safety of its workers, the animals in its supply chain, and public health by taking the following quick actions:

  1. Call or text Tyson’s customer service line at 1-800-233-6332. You can use the following sample script as inspiration for your own:
I recently saw a shocking video about Tyson’s long history of bad behavior. What do you have to say for yourselves? Your horrific treatment of your own workers, along with your total disregard for animal welfare, the environment, and public health, is disturbing. It’s time to do better, Tyson! I am done purchasing any of your products!
  2. Submit a contact form to Tyson, letting the company know that its behavior is unacceptable!
Example message: I was so saddened to learn about Tyson’s ongoing lack of action to keep your workers safe, as well as the fact that you seemingly don’t care at all about animal welfare or public health: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpxJ5xJTHek. It’s time to stop putting profits over everyone and everything, and instead focus on helping to build a more sustainable, equitable food system—the opposite of the current, broken food system that Tyson created.

Please don’t forget to keep sharing this petition with your network. The more signatures we gather, the bigger an impact it will have!

Thank you so much for your continued support!
