Tyson Foods: Stop Crippling Birds with Rapid Growth!
ACT NOW: Tell Tyson Cruelty Won’t Fly in Tennessee!
Animal Outlook
Jun 22, 2018 —
TODAY: Tell Tyson Foods that cruelty won’t fly in Tennessee! The poultry giant has broken ground on a new slaughterhouse in Humboldt, TN, and has created an email address for messages from the public about the project. Email Tyson at TennesseeProjectSupply@tyson.com using our sample message below to ensure the company knows that consumers stand against its cruel practices! As Tyson continues to grow, including with this new slaughter plant, it still has yet to address the atrocities it is committing through the genetic manipulation of birds for debilitating rapid growth. A recent Compassion Over Killing investigation exposed horrific suffering due to Tyson’s breeding of birds to grow so unnaturally large, so quickly that their fragile legs often collapse under their own morbidly obese bodies. Tennessee residents and millions more consumers around the country are flocking from this cruelty and toward kinder, more sustainable plant protein. Now that Tyson’s soliciting input from those interested in its new slaughterhouse, let’s use this opportunity to tell the poultry giant our only interest is in fighting its cruelty! Send a quick email to Tyson at TennesseeProjectSupply@tyson.com using our sample below urging it to put an end to the genetic manipulation of birds for debilitating rapid growth once and for all – and to continue to shift toward compassionate plant protein! SAMPLE EMAIL: Subject Line: Cruelty won’t fly in Tennessee! Body: Dear Tyson, As you break ground on your new Tennessee slaughterhouse, I am writing as a concerned citizen to urge you to break your tradition of animal cruelty. A recent Compassion Over Killing investigation revealed that birds are subjected to egregious abuse and are bred to grow so unnaturally large, so quickly that their fragile legs often collapse under their morbidly obese bodies — all so your company can turn a profit. Since this investigation, more than a quarter million consumers have urged you to create meaningful change for the chickens raised and killed by your company by ending rapid growth once and for all. I hope you will listen to these informed consumers and use this new facility to become a true food industry leader by continuing to shift toward kinder plant protein. Thank you. Sincerely, [YOUR NAME]
