When 2 swans moved into Mascuppic Lake at the beginning of the spring, people were delighted. Especially when 6 cygnets (baby swans) were born. But when the boats and jet skis were starting to harm them, the adult swans started to protect their young. As a result, people say that the swans are harassing the humans. Animal Control has decided to relocate the swans. If this is unsuccessful, they will be euthanized. We believe that the boater and jet skiers can easily just go around them. If they can avoid the swans, then the harassment will stop. They should not have to be taken away or killed just because they were doing what all swans do. Just as people would do if their children were in danger. It would make the community happier to see that the swans are unharmed.
