Verify the account of Blockchain 2035 author and DigiByte founder Jared Tate

Verify the account of Blockchain 2035 author and DigiByte founder Jared Tate
The Issue
On January 10th 2014 the DigiByte blockchain was officially launched. The project, founded by Jared Tate, would go on to pilot many incredible innovations, including:
- DigiShield
- MultiAlgo
- DigiSpeed
- DigiAssets
- and much more
Since DigiByte's humble beginnings, it has become the longest, fastest, and most secure UTXO blockchain — ever. As it approaches its 6th birthday it is almost unrivaled in its stability and consistency.
DigiByte would not have been possible if without Jared Tate's commitment to decentralization, security, and personal liberty. Furthermore, Tate has stuck to his convictions in these values countess times - always refusing to exploit his position in the blockchain community for personal gain. Most recently, he declined participating in the groundbreaking (non-profit) DigiByte Foundation, ensuring that DigiByte stays decentralized as it continues to grow and revolutionize the internet.
What Jared Tate has been doing is devoting his time to educating the public on the potential of blockchain technology. On October 31st 2019 Tate released Blockchain 2035: The Digital DNA of Internet 3.0, the first book written and published by the founder of a blockchain protocol.
However — despite his contributions to blockchain technology, status in the blockchain industry/community, and recognition by respected members of the tech world — @jaredctate remains unverified by Twitter.
Although this may seem trivial, this oversight by Twitter has substantial consequences:
- It empowers spammers and scammers attempting to steal Tate's identity and defraud others
- It delegitimizes Tate's contributions to blockchain technology - many who have done much less (or nothing) are verified
- It suppresses DigiByte - a blockchain committed to the principles of decentralization, security and innovation - by extension, also suppressing smaller projects with similar, upstanding visions
We, the DigiByte community, cherish Twitter almost as much as we do blockchain technology — it is the platform we are most active on! We also believe Jared Tate deserves a verified badge as per Twitter's own guidelines. We believe that verifying his account would be beneficial for all; as what is best for the world's fastest, longest & most secure UTXO blockchain is best for the world.
