Takedown 5-minute crafts and other dangerous content farms on social media.

The Issue

Content farms on Youtube such as 5-Minute Crafts, So Yummy, and Troom Troom are huge multi-million subscriber channel on Youtube and other social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and others. The problem with them is they reuse content just to get views and money which itself isn't directly harmful but a lot of the content is fake and downright harmful. An example is a video uploaded by So Yummy in March 2019 that shows them pouring melted caramel over an electric beater to make a kind of cotton candy-like substance the problem with this being is it is very dangerous because caramel is sent flying everywhere and caramel melts around 150 degrees Fahrenheit ( 66 °C). Third-degree burns happen from just two-second exposure to 150-degree water and caramel sticks to your skin. 5-Minute crafts has a lot of videos using activated charcoal some even involve ingesting it the problem comes in with the fact they use very high amounts of it and high amounts of activated charcoal causes upset stomachs and extreme nausea usually inducing vomiting.

These channels spread tons of misinformation this spreading of false facts leads to decisions based on it which can have fatal consequences and the future generations like millennials and Gen Z are the main ones who see these channels, so they will start to believe it and the belief of misinformation is never good because it leads to things like anti-vaxxers or flat earthers. Many YouTubers have pointed out this fake information or danger they are promoting such as How To Cook That, Jarvis Johnson, Danny Gonzales, and many others.

The solution to this problem could be the removal of this false or dangerous content from social media Youtube even has policies against content farms yet has done nothing to 5-Minute crafts. So if we can get enough signatures we might be able to get rid of these channels and get rid of this plague on social media.
