The right to free speech is an important component of any democracy. Debate and discourse is healthy and though we may believe differently on many issues I think we can all agree we each need to be able to have a voice at the table. Right now though that voice is not equal and that needs to change for the health of all democracies around the world.

Twitter has allowed people to purchase millions of "followers" to spread their message, which dilutes the voice of the rest of us who can't afford to do so. They've allowed anonymous programs to set up fake bot accounts posing as real people to gain support for that persons priorities and trash those who disagree with them. This is not how democracy should work.

We should be having a passionate and robust debate about all the issues that effect our lives, but I think every single person should have an equal voice no matter what your beliefs are. If you believe in everyone having an equal vote I hope you believe in everyone having an equal voice.
