On May 26, 2019, Nicole Cliffe posted a hate-filled and violent diatribe on Twitter against women who disagree with her on issues surrounding biological sex and gender identity.

She labeled women misogynistic pejoratives such as “terf,” “cunt,” and “twat,” and she threatened to throw anyone in front of a bus who makes someone she cares about “sad about their gender.”

We, the petition signers, denounce Nicole Cliffe’s violent threats and misogynistic language, and we demand that Twitter, Slate, Vulture, ELLE, Catapult, The Guardian, and Christianity Today also denounce her statements and refuse future publication of her work until she issues an apology and a retraction.
