Save Twitch's Communities
The Issue
Twitch has recently declared there will be a change in their community system. This change will remove the Twitch communities feature in favor of a tagging system similar to Youtube's tag system. This is not a bad idea, but it is being seen in the community that this is not the best approach, as many twitch streamers use their community's daily and have even received affiliate and partnership from being apart of these communities. The Twitch community Feature is said to be only used by 3% of the Twitch viewer base to find channels, which may be true, but this doesn't take into account the hosts and raids received by being an active member in these communities. The community feature is not completely useless as people are proclaiming it to be. Streamers use this feature as great networking tool and a place to advertise their stream to other streamers. It is asked for this feature to be left on the Twitch platform and implemented alongside the tagging system. It is being felt that this tagging system is not a suited replacement for the community feature, but should be implemented as an addition to the platform as a whole. Community's are helpful in many ways and allows growing channels to reach out to viewers in ways other then them clicking on their channel. It is asked to reconsider this decision & have tags integrate with communities to help better them, not replace them.
