Hello,
We wanted to provide a quick update for the group. Tomorrow night Tustin City Council is holding a special meeting to discuss ATEP and the city's reckless decision to place a homeless shelter 500 feet away from an elementary school and directly across the street from a toddler splash pad and park. This is in direct response to our efforts last week to push them to put ATEP back on the city council agenda.
We highly encourage everyone to come out and to support the community. We have a new city council installed with what we believe are two votes in favor of instructing the city to stop construction at ATEP and to find a new location far away from schools and the city's most vulnerable, our children. They do have alternative locations that are far away from any schools or parks. They simply need to be pushed to proceed with those options. We just need one more vote to overturn the decision. The meeting details are:
- Thursday December 6th at 6:30pm
- 300 Centennial Way Tustin CA 92780
Please show up tomorrow. Please reach out to the following individuals today. Appeal them to vote with the community and to put children's safety first. Email them, call them, facebook message them. They need to hear that you genuinely don't feel as if your children's safety is being considered and when you drop off your children to the school that safety has to be considered. If one of them side with us then we'll have enough votes to secure this:
