Summary: I, Donald Babadalir, need your support in convincing the Turlock City Council to appoint me to the vacant District 4 seat for the remaining two years of the term. My name is Donald Babadalir. I live in Turlock’s District 4 and I am applying for candidacy to be appointed to the District 4 council seat. I am kindly asking for your signature in support of this candidacy for the following reasons:

- Turlock has just recently had its election for the District 1 and 3 seats, as well as the mayor. We know where everyone stands and we know what the issues are. There is a time and place for everything. Right now, what we need is a fighter; someone who will advocate for Turlock and who will not be part of the business-as-usual mindset. This is not a special election or even a regular election – you are signing to support me as your councilman for TWO years. Take a chance on me. If I can not be effective, you will not have to see me as your councilman after that.
- I am currently an engineer for an aerospace company, and went to graduate school at SJSU for an MS in Nutrition and Packaging Engineering. I work in the private sector where wasting money will get one fired. Every day, I bring a Lean Six Sigma mindset to work, which means I am constantly looking for ways to ask tough questions and improve processes. When is the last time city hall did that with our money? I live and breathe it.
- Speaking of money, we were misled about a lot of budgetary matters. I will fight for you to cut waste of our tax dollars. That starts with full transparency of the budget and city matters.
- We were sold a bill of lies when Measure L was passed and we were told Turlock streets would be prioritized. Two years later and much of what was promised has not come to pass. I will fight for our town so we are not taxed more and the existing tax dollars are used for what they were promised to be used for.
- NO ONE likes what is going on with Turlock’s homeless situation. Many of us also do not like the fact that City of Turlock declared a homeless crisis in order to obtain county revenue for that issue and attract all of California’s homeless. We should not be a dumping site and we work too hard to see decaying public places. I will fight to make sure we take care of our own. Turlock First!
- The economy is booming and money is changing hands everywhere. Where is Turlock’s cut? Why do we keep seeing these bad deals? I will push to see our city work with our local assembly member and state senator – negotiating with Democrats, Republicans, and others – in order to see Turlock get its fair share. We live in one of the most lucrative parts of the state. Why on earth should we not get our slice of the pie? Has it ever occurred to you that Turlock is seen as a formidable opponent on the state level? We are. We just need good leaders.
- CHAMPION, NOT A COWARD: I have run for council before and with that have run through the gauntlet, enduring all that comes with it. Appointment processes are popular because people see it as a way to avoid the painful insults and scrutiny that come along with running for public office. I have been through it before. Turlock deserves a champion, not a coward.
- People are leaving California in droves. I dug my heels in and am staying here to fight for what I love most: my family, our community, OUR people. I am your champion.
