Justice for Darren Kang

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!

A New Malaysia. This is a phrase that I have heard so many times in these past few days, ever since we manage to make our voices heard and changed our ruling government.

I know that I am not alone when I say, with this change of ruling government, we hope to also see changes in our country. No longer we want to see any corruption, money laundering, bribery, or misuse of power by the government or any other individuals that hold the power.

We need to send a clear message once and for all that there are no individuals that are above the law, and every corruption or misuse of power will not be tolerated.

Speaking of potential misuse of power, in 2004, a young man called Darren Kang was violently beaten to death by a group of men. Investigation has been done, and the verdict is that the killers are a group of foreigners.

But there are some accusations that the foreigners are actually mere scapegoats, and that one of the killers is a man called Nedim Nazri, a son of a really powerful Malaysian Minister. Bare in mind that these are only accusation. Only God and the people who were there knows the truth.

Reason behind this petition is to urge our beloved Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad to reopen an investigation of this case. Reasons being, during the investigation in 2004, the father of the accused is a really influential Minister, and we can't be 100% sure that the investigation was carried out fairly, and thoroughly.

This is not a witch hunt. This petition is not claiming that the accused did the killing.

This petition is just to urge a reopen of the case, so that the investigation can be done fairly, without any interruption from any influential individuals.

I am sure that if the accused is truly innocent, there is no harm in being investigated again; the Court will come to the decision for the second time that he is innocent, and the family will have their peace knowing that they have got the fair trial that they yearn for.

We should aim to leave a world to our children where no one is above the law, no matter how powerful or rich. My fellow Malaysians, my brothers and sisters, here is our chance to build a better Malaysia.

I humbly ask for your support, so that we can we urge our beloved PM to reopen an investigation of this case.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you.

Yours truly,
Your Fellow Malaysian.
