Save Town Square Shopping Center

The Issue

Town Square Wheaton used to be a bustling, fun, beautiful shopping center. It brought the community together with its diverse businesses. Many of us enjoyed a stroll around the Square, shopping (window or for real) in a beautifully designed center with nice music playing. It almost didn't feel like a mall. After getting your steps in for the day, a nice meal at one of the many restaurants was the cherry on top of what could be anywhere from a quick trip or a healthy dose of retail therapy.

The new management group needs to pay attention to the wants and needs of the people in the community. They have turned a beloved gathering place into a ghost town. They did a nice job with the renovations, but what is the point with no shops to support or enjoy the center??

The last thing the area needs is more housing. There are already 2 nice communities right there. We need community centers where residents can enjoy the town they live in. The managing companies should want to be a part of that.

If we can, as a community, commit to shop local, maybe just MAYBE they will listen to us.

Tell Tucker Development that we want our Town Square back. Tell them to stop raising the rents in order to force the tenants that have been there for YEARS to leave. Tell them to do what is right, not just what pads their bottom line. Tell them they can be better.
