The Issue

Troy University prides itself on creating an environment of inclusion and equality for students of all backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures. This atmosphere is not very easily created or maintained when the focal point of the main quad is a building named after a former Alabama governor who had close ties with and was endorsed by the KKK. Despite his later denunciation of and resignation from the KKK, Bibb Graves once held the title “Grand Cyclops of the Montgomery Klavern.” Sign this petition to move in a direction of change and to rename Bibb Graves Hall to something more progressive and reflective of Alabama’s International University that we are proud to call home!
