A National Call for Raymond Tim Kee to resign as Mayor

Port of Spain Mayor, Raymond Tim Kee is in the habit of blaming and shaming victims of abuse. In light of his recent comments with regard to the discovery of Japanese national Asami Nagakiya, whose body was found under a tree on Feb 10th 2016 after Carnival celebrations in the City of Port of Spain, we are asking for him to resign with immediate effect.
He is quoted as saying:
"Women have a responsibility to ensure they are not abused during the Carnival season
You have to let your imagination roll a bit and figure out was there any evidence of resistance? Or alcohol control and therefore involuntary actions were engaged in and so on."
If you believe that this type of mindset has no place in public office, and would rather have someone compassionate and better informed of an individual's legal right to life, security, freedom of movement and expression; and, if you would like to be a part of the process of accountability, and agree that this is not the kind of representation that Trinidad and Tobago needs, sign this petition to start paving the way forward for a better Trinidad and Tobago.
