Concern

• I am a resident of the Inner West Council area, gravely concerned about the safety of our children, workers, and parents who are at constant risk due to the perilous gum trees incorrectly situated in our neighbourhood that are inappropriate trees in an inappropriate location.
• Approx 10 people died from this tree species in 2024 in NSW

Hazardous Trees in an inappropriate location

• These hazardous trees, besides posing a constant threat to human life, are causing structural damage to property.
• It is a widely accepted fact that trees are vital to the environment. Still, when they are inappropriately placed, as they are in our case, they pose significant problems that cannot be ignored.
• It is paramount for us to make decisions not only weighing the environmental implications but also considering the safety and preservation of life and property.

Inner West Council Must take Action

• Therefore, we demand the Inner West Council's immediate action to mitigate this issue.
• We urge them to inspect, evaluate, and, if necessary, to remove these dangerous trees promptly.
• We need them to reaffirm their commitment to us - their constituents, and ensure our safety is their primary concern.
• Support us in our urgent request for the safety of chilldren at this centre and the preservation of property.
• We call upon the relevant authorities to undertake the necessary steps for the immediate removal of these trees.
• Let's spare no effort to preserve the heart of our community from the danger looming over it.
