Uber drivers live hand to mouth every day, round the year! Working 10-12 hours, they still have to depend on benefits for a decent life for their families! They venture out every day, 7 days a week, fearing racial abuse/attacks, accident on slippery roads, hidden speed cameras, police targeting for fines, car punctures and breakdowns, etc. At the end of the week, after paying 25% commission to fat-cat company, UBER (worth $70-80 Billion) and accounting for all expenses, they are left with only a couple of hundred pounds - not even above poverty levels and below National Minimum Wage! And they are condescendingly referred to as ‘Uber Partners’. That’s the joke of the century! Uber executives, sitting in air-conditioned offices, must show more empathy towards the thousands of drivers who make them prosperous.

This petition demands a fairer fare level so that Uber drivers can live with a reasonable financial independence and dignity. So that they don’t have to worry about that one road-fine which would rob them of their whole one week’s hard earned net-income! So that they don’t have to depend on Government handouts and doles!

Uber drivers all over the UK demand the following rates for their services! They don’t want to become rich- they wish to live with dignity! While Uber is piling up the billions they have a responsibility towards the hard-working, life-risking, drivers who are making them rich!

We demand the following changes (for next 12 months to begin with):

Bring Uber's commission down from 25% to 10%

Minimum fare, day time - £4

Minimum fare for first mile, daytime - £4

Subsequent mile, daytime - £1.70

Minimum fare, night time - £5

Minimum fare for first mile, nights - £5

Subsequent mile, night time - £2

Waiting charge per minute - 20p

Annual bonus for UK "Uber Partners"

Average daily income as sick pay (As long as proof is provided e.g. Doctors Certificate)
