Keep our HEAVY VEHICLE ACCESS OPEN at Raglan Tavern

At 2,500 signatures, this petition is more likely to get picked up by local news!

Main Roads had decided to close our Southern Access driveway - this is the driveway the trucks need to access our parking area.

Without this driveway, trucks travelling from Rocky won't be able to get back onto the Bruce Hwy to go south, & trucks travelling northbound won't have safe access at all.

This means the rest area that Raglan Tavern provides with hot clean showers, home cooked meals &, with space for around 20 or so trucks,  somewhere to stop when you are out of hours, won't be accessible.

In this area there are not many places left for our ESSENTIAL SERVICE TRUCKIES to stop that can provide them with, clean, and decent amenities, good home-cooked meals and coffee, and a safe place to sleep.  The two service stations to our north & south have very limited space, and, along with the Main Roads in the process of closing a truck parking bay south of Raglan, losing this driveway access will greatly limit options left for drivers to comply with regulated rest periods.

We are talking with Main Roads & Council to change this decision & get an approved bitumen driveway at our Southern entrance. This is going well but we need all of your support to sign this Petition & show them how important this driveway is for our Truckies!!
