Currently you are unable to add an Opal Card to Apple Wallet. This is technically possible in iOS12 and above and should be implemented for the reasons below.

IMPORTANT: This is NOT the same as using a Credit Card within Apple Wallet on an Opal Card Reader. This petition is for the ability to add your Opal Card itself to Apple Wallet. 

Benefits:

• Cost reduction from reduced number of physical NFC Opal Cards being used.
• Cost reduction in Credit Card merchant fees.
• Improved roll out of Pay with Opal.
• Greater convenience for tourists and infrequent travellers by being able to use their phone to sign up for an Opal Card, Add Funds to the Opal Card and tap on/off all on their phone.
• Retain full economic incentive in weekly travel fare caps for regular commuters.
• Display credit balance directly within Apple Maps when getting Public Transport direction and alert if too low.
• Ability to set Opal Card as Express Transit Card so that it does not require Touch/Face ID in order to tap on/tap off. Will also work even if phone is powered off and/or out of battery.
