TfL are planning to remove the 271 bus route and re-route the 21 bus so that it no longer serves the stretch between Newington Green and the Southgate Road intersection with New North Road. Click these links to read more about the proposed changes and see maps of the current and proposed routes.

This would have a significant negative impact on the communities living along the stretch no longer served by the 21:

If these changes go ahead:

• The 141 will become the only bus serving the stretch currently served by the 21 between Newington Green and London Bridge
• This will significantly increase demand particularly at peak times, making it harder for people to get to school and work on time
• The 271 route will be replaced by the 21 but no longer serve the stretch northwest of Holloway Road Station

TfL ran a consultation on these changes over the Christmas period, which closed on January 9. From our conversations with members of the community, many people were not aware of the consultation given the Christmas distraction and want to oppose these changes.

Please sign this petition to ask Transport for London to re-open the consultation to allow more voices to be heard and/or to reconsider the proposed changes.
