Transition to a Free Iran
The Issue
Dear President Trump and Secretary Rubio,
We, the undersigned prominent Iranian-American scholars, entrepreneurs, business leaders, creators, activists, and professionals, write to you today with deep gratitude and a shared sense of hope amid the turmoil in our homeland. As the brave men and women of Iran are protesting across the country against the islamic republic regime, demanding freedom and dignity after decades of oppression, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing firmly with the Iranian people. Your support—President Trump’s clear warnings to the regime and Secretary Rubio’s affirmations of solidarity—has given voice to the voiceless and inspired millions on the streets. In a time when the world often looks away, your moral clarity shines through.
For the first time in generations, we feel closer than ever to a free Iran—one that can finally begin the long process of healing from years of isolation and hardship, paving the way for true prosperity for all its citizens. The cries from Tehran to Tabriz and from Mashahd to Abadan echo a universal call for change, not chaos, but a future built on justice and opportunity.
With that same moral clarity, we urge you to champion a new Iranian government that aligns with the aspirations and demands of the people rising up today. Hence, we ask for your unwavering support for a leadership that:
· Establishes a secular framework, ensuring full respect for freedom of speech, religion, and belief for every individual.
· Embraces economic openness, inviting global partnerships and trade to unlock Iran’s potential and benefit its people.
· Ends the decades-long cycle of antisemitism and hostility toward Israel to foster a lasting peace in the Middle East.
· Builds a pro-Western, pro-democracy foundation, engaging the international community through mutual respect, shared values, and collective prosperity.
· Rejects extremism and terrorism in all forms, committing to regional stability, individual rights, and the rule of law to safeguard a secure future for all.
· Upholds the unity of Iran while celebrating its rich cultural and linguistic diversity, ensuring that all ethnic groups thrive together within a cohesive nation.
The Iranian-American community has contributed greatly to the US economy estimated to be close to 1.5 trillions of dollars (Uber, Ebay, DataBricks, Applovin, Prologis, Intuit, DropBox, PNP, Pear, large VC community, and countless other companies) and a free Iran will strengthen the relationship between the two great nations.
This is not just a plea for Iran; it’s a vision for a Middle East and a world where freedom prevails over fear. Your leadership has already made a difference – we seek your support to ensure it leads to lasting change.
