The Issue

Petition to Transition School Photography Services to a Local Photographer at Knapp Elementary School in North Penn School District, Pennsylvania.

We, the undersigned parents and community members, request that our elementary school reconsider its contract with Lifetouch and explore partnering instead with a locally owned photography business.

Lifetouch is currently owned through a chain of corporate investments connected to large private-equity firms. One of those firms, Apollo Global Management, has faced public scrutiny due to past financial relationships between its former CEO and Jeffrey Epstein. While there is no evidence that Lifetouch itself engaged in wrongdoing, many families feel uncomfortable supporting corporate structures associated with individuals whose judgment and associations have raised serious ethical concerns.

Choosing a local photographer provides the following benefits:

  • Keeps school funds circulating within our local economy
  • Supports small businesses and neighbors instead of multinational investment firms
  • Allows greater transparency and accountability
  • Provides more flexibility in pricing, style, and family experience
  • Strengthens community relationships between families and local professionals

We respectfully ask school leadership to review alternative vendors and open a transparent discussion about future photography contracts that prioritize community investment, ethical stewardship, and local partnership.

Signed,

Parents and Community Members
