Transform Tiger Transit
La causa
THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL PETITION
This is part of one of my campaigns materials for project 6 for English 1120
I am an Auburn student facing the challenges of mobility without owning a car. Like many others, I rely on Auburn's existing public transportation system, "Tiger Transit," for days that involve grocery shopping or commuting to campus. The city layout makes having a vehicle less of a choice, more of a necessity. However, not everyone has this luxury.
With over 30,000 students enrolled at Auburn University, a survey conducted revealed that about 60% of students walk, cycle, or use public transit. That's over 10,000 students who potentially rely on public transportation (Auburn Office of Sustainability). Yet, our 'Tiger Transit' functions with a lot of limitations.
Our request is not radical. We demand an expansion of the transit system's routes, an increase in its operating hours, more accessible stops near students' residences, and, above all, a reliable system that students can count on.
By meeting this demand, we ensure transportation equity for all students, creating a more inclusive Auburn University. Let's make "Tiger Transit" a service worthy of its student population. Let's make it a service that functions not out of necessity but out of efficiency and reliability. If you believe in a more accessible Auburn, sign this petition. Together, we can drive change.
