The garish 'Easy Group' signs on the Fulham Road, at the site where Daunt's bookshop used to be, are an eyesore on our beautiful neighbourhood. Unfortunately, the Council has no power to insist these signs be removed as they are covered by advertising regulations, and thus do not require planning permission.

Beyond the signs, the area outside the 'Easy' stores looks drab and entirely unloved. It's dead space, and detracts from an otherwise lively, busy, and attractive area. 

When Daunt Books was there, this was a much-loved part of the high street, and there's no reason it can't be again. This would be good for residents, and good for Easy Group as the landlord.

We are therefore asking Easy Group to reconsider their use of this area. We ask them

• to amend the signage so that it's more in keeping with the area
• to bring life back to this part of the Fulham Road - we'd love another book shop, or a restaurant or cafe that people actually use!
