The Issue

Goldridge has always been more than just a neighborhood—it has been my home. When I moved here in 2011, this was the ideal place to raise a family. My kids, much like yours, proudly wore the colors of the Golden West Mustangs and Vanden Vikings. Back then, our entrances were clean, landscaping was maintained, and our streets felt connected and secure.

In May of 2025, my world was shattered when my son was brutally murdered. Following that devastating tragedy, I found myself sitting alone in Gary Falati Park under the moonlight, watching the exact same swings he once played on as a child dance in the wind. In that quiet, heavy moment, amidst tears and heartache, I made a firm resolve: to harness that pain and drive positive change. That heartbreak ignited an unshakeable mission—to start right here in Goldridge, the heart of our home, ensuring our children are safe, protected, and given every opportunity to thrive.

Protecting Our Children, Families, and Investments
As our neighborhood has grown, our community spaces and safety infrastructure have severely lagged behind. We have more families, children, and teens moving into the area, yet we face stagnant spaces, outdated playgrounds, and a complete lack of basic neighborhood infrastructure.

Look no further than the open, unmaintained field right beside Gary Falati Park—owned by the Travis Unified School District. For years, we were made promises about what this space would become for our kids and community, yet today those promises sit entirely unfulfilled, represented by an empty, neglected dirt field instead of the vibrant recreational space our children were promised.

We pay the highest taxes in Fairfield. We maintain our homes with immense pride. We are hardworking homeowners, service members, and families who have heavily invested in this community—yet our financial investments are being ignored. Growth and development flourish all around us in both Fairfield and Vacaville, while Goldridge is left behind.

The clearest example of this systemic neglect is right at our entrance on Huck Road from Cement Hill Road, which looks entirely abandoned—overrun with weeds, lacking proper landscaping or signage, and offering zero sense of welcome.

A Dangerous Lack of Basic Safety Infrastructure
Our children and families are being put at risk every single day due to a shocking absence of basic traffic and pedestrian safety measures:

No Crosswalks or Sensible Signage: We lack critical crosswalks and intuitive traffic signage needed to slow drivers and protect pedestrians.
Unsafe Bus Stops: Unlike almost every other community in Fairfield, our bus stops lack safe, visible warning signs and infrastructure to protect our kids as they wait for school transport.
This is about basic public safety, protecting our children from harm, and demanding the municipal and institutional support we pay for.

The Solution: The Goldridge Together Vision
The community is speaking, and we refuse to stay silent. The Goldridge Together Vision is a comprehensive plan to protect our families, build a secure anti-violence framework, and revitalize our neighborhood:

  1. Enhanced Anti-Violence & Public Safety Measures: Implementing better street lighting, traffic calming, safe crosswalks and bus stop signage, community patrols, and youth engagement programs to deter crime and keep our families safe.

  2. Upgrade and Expand Community Facilities & Holding Partners Accountable: Transforming neglected spaces—including the TUSD-owned open field beside Gary Falati Park—into modernized parks and recreation areas to support our growing youth population. Our vision includes:

Community Activity Center for kids that are not able to participate in other programs due to their geographic placement in District 6.

    Baseball diamonds and soccer goals

Multiple basketball hoops and a functional skatepark/pump track area

Updated playground equipment, a dog park, tennis/pickleball courts, and a community garden

  3. Protecting Our Investments & Neighborhood Beauty: Holding the city and local entities accountable for the upkeep of our landscapes, public spaces, and neglected entryways like Huck Road.

Strengthen Community Ties: Rebuilding a tight-knit, supportive neighborhood network through community events and family-focused programs.
Standing Strong Together
These aren’t luxury requests—they are fundamental requirements for a safe, thriving community.

This right here is stand-up-and-say-something pride. Not complacency. Not silence. Not “just accept it.” Some people may not like the process, the idea of improvements, or the push for real change, and may choose threats and intimidation. To them I say: Step aside, we’ve got this. We stand diligently to protect our youth, support our families, and fortify public safety for all.

Why Your Signature Matters
