Hi all,

The Wakefield School Committee is expected to vote on Monday, July 15 to transfer the Wakefield Elementary School property (which includes the playground) to the town of South Kingstown for proposed development. This land has long served our community—not just as a school, but as vital open space, meeting space, play area and sledding hill for the children. This community is growing larger with more families and children, and once this land is gone, we can’t get it back. Lets encourage them to keep this land for future educational use, or hand it over to the Parks and Recreation department where there can expand the park into a bigger, safer park that will attract even more people to this amazing town. 

Please help spread the word and encourage community members to attend the meeting and speak during public comment.
