Lennox Lawrence is in prison and has been for over 35 years for a crime that he did not commit. He was 17 years old at the time of the incident and he was blamed by others because he was not born in the United states. His family moved from Kingston Jamaica in order to have a better life only 1 yr before the incident. Due to lack of funds for a family with 8 children his parents was unable to get him proper representation. Lennox Lawrence has requested several times to be transferred and was denied each time. It takes over 6 1/2 hours in a vehicle to drive to Shawnee and see him. His mother who is the only person that stays in Chicago is unable to make that distance because of her health and her inability to drive.  Lennox is now over 55 years old is now having health issues himself with his kidney's on the verge of shutting down and being in ICU at St louis University Hospital for over a month. His only request is to be transferred to a facility that is still a 3 hour drive, but it is closer to his very ill mother.
