Nothing has changed for the Bridgewater State Hospital population. Instead, this population remains in a toxic environment full of dangerous asbestos, toxic mold, inadequate leadership, unsanitary conditions, poor dental and medical care, illegal restraints and other on-going civil rights violations, all documented by the Disability Law Center.

The Department of Corrections continues to fail this population today because they lack proper leadership and therapeutic policies. There is no leader on the Department of Corrections executive staff qualified to oversee a psychatric hospital.
Instead the Department of Corrections rely on a private health care organization not qualitifed to oversee a psychatric hospital. Wellpath Recovery Solutions, known for many years of failures, profit over care, thousands of lawsuits and unqualified healthcare employees especially executive level.
Most troublesome is the Department of Corrections recently renewed a five year contract with Wellpath and rewarded them for years of failures. Wellpath Recovery Solutions recently changed their name to Recovery Solutions after filing bankruptcy in November 2024. Recovery Solutions is still the same organization with the same executive leadership and employees.
