

Deplorable and unsanitary conditions Persist at Bridgewater State Hospital
The Department of Public Health inspector says he is concerned about disease transmittal.
Rodents, toxic mold, insects, fly infestation, asbestos and other deplorable conditions found at Bridgewater State Hospital. The Disability Law Center has condemned Bridgewater State Hospital. mold expert says " No one should be living or working at this complex due to toxic mold growth and asbestos.

Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health Observations and Recommendations
Throughout the facility, bathrooms and shower areas were observed to be poorly maintained resulting in unsanitary conditions. The CSP is concerned with the increased risk of disease transmission with the high number of inmates being exposed to such unsanitary conditions. The CSP recommends ensuring all bathroom and shower areas are finished with smooth and easily cleanable surfaces as well as developing a higher frequency shower cleaning policy.
