Transfer Andhra Pradesh Police Boss (DGP) and Chief Secretary (CS)

The Issue

Dear Election Commission,

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of grave concern regarding the conduct of the Andhra Pradesh Police Department and the Chief Secretary and the District Collectors during the ongoing election process. It has come to our attention, and the attention of many concerned citizens, that there have been instances of blatant misuse of power by the Police and the State Administration Department (District Collectors), particularly in favor of the ruling party (YSRCP) and to the detriment of opposition parties.

The DGP, Mr KV Rajendranath Reddy was appointed by the YSRCP Government and he is a sympathizer of YSRCP government and hails from the same caste and community of the current Chief Minister and also . His appointment itself was criticized by many. Please see the press report (https://thesouthfirst.com/behind-the-news/the-curious-case-of-the-andhra-pradesh-dgp-post/)

Even though there were at least half a dozen senior officers who are eligible to be the state DGP. But the YSRCP Government has effectively bypassed all of them.

So, now this DGP returning the Favour by publicly and openly helping the ruling YSRCP Government.

Likewise, the Chief Secretary to the State K.S. Jawahar Reddy was appointed as Chief Secretary by ignoring many senior officers. He belongs to the same caste and community of the current Chief Minister and also belongs to the same region. His appointment itself was surprised by many. Please see the press report (https://government.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/governance/andhra-govt-ignores-seniority-names-jawahar-reddy-as-state-chief-secretary/95817492

So, now this CS returning the Favour by publicly and openly helping the ruling YSRCP Government.

So, in summary, the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and the DGP all three belongs to the SAME CASTE and SAME COMMUNITY and hails from SAME DISTRICT (KADAPA) are mocking the electoral process.

The impartiality and fairness of our electoral process are fundamental to upholding the principles of democracy. However, recent incidents have raised serious doubts about the integrity of the process due to the undue influence and interference of the police.

Specifically, there have been numerous reports and documented cases of the police actively aiding the ruling party while simultaneously harassing and obstructing opposition parties. This egregious behavior not only undermines the democratic rights of citizens but also tarnishes the credibility of the entire electoral process.

Furthermore, it is evident that such actions by the police are not isolated incidents but rather systematic attempts to manipulate the outcome of the elections. This misuse of power not only violates the principles of democracy but also erodes public trust in the electoral system.

It is imperative that immediate action be taken to address these concerns and ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. The independence and neutrality of law enforcement agencies must be upheld to safeguard the integrity of our democratic process.

The future of our democracy depends on the integrity of our elections, and it is essential that every effort be made to uphold the principles of fairness and justice.

Therefore, I urge the Election Commission to transfer the DGP and the Chief Secretary to other roles as the fair and free elections are not possible under them.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the Election Commission will act swiftly and decisively to address these serious concerns and uphold the integrity of our electoral process.

Yours Sincerely,

Andhra Pradesh resident and voter.
