Hey everyone. So as some may know, Baz, Sam, Calvin, and I had a three hour meeting with President Tuajuanda Jordan today. This meeting also included Susan Dyer, head of the board of trustees. This included a lot of progress but it also brought to light some new information. As of right now, this is where we stand on a lot of issues.
1- President Jordan is issuing an apology tomorrow.
2- The name change policy is what Dr. Howland sent out previously to all students (We are really hoping that this works until the new actual system arrives in 2022 and that the ball isn't dropped. There's already scheduled meetings for this ahead. I've put it into the drive).
3- In terms of open housing, this issue seemed overly complicated. This is a topic we'll revisit as I explain the next step.
4- President Jordan claimed that she had never seen any reports or anything about Kelsey Bush. She actually asked why we didn't report Kelsey Bush and I said that I had. We agreed that the system had failed here especially since Kelsey Bush "wouldn't have been changed from interim to staying" if the reports were known. I have a few theories about what happened here but people have told me that this is a lie and the reports were known. She did know. And if she didn't, that's an even scarier issue that she was completely unaware that one of her head administration members had many bias reports against him.
We have confirmed with President Tuajuanda Jordan that by tomorrow we will submit to her a step by step plan with dates in getting things done. I believe this is where we will be most powerful with open housing because both President Tuajuanda Jordan and Susan Dyer seemed especially confused with these topics. We're 100% continuing to stay the night tonight while working on the plan. We're also going to see how it works when it comes with Kelsey Bush. If they refuse to work with us on him, then we're staying. Thanks.
