UPDATE ON THE MEETING WITH ANDREW WESTERN
ON THE 28TH FEBRUARY.
CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMUNITY.
Andy has been true to his word and has informed us that there will be consultation with the community with regards to the future of the centre.
We were offered dates this month but have declined them as we need time to publicise and promote the consultation in order to raise as much awareness as possible so that everybody in the community
will be given the opportunity to have their say and input as to what they would like at the centre.
The consultation will be after the local elections in May and the drop in centre venues, dates, times and length of time for the consultation will be relayed in due course.
Trafford Council will also be issuing a press release once the dates have been agreed on so as to reach a wider audience as possible.
For everybody who has supported the campaign and has signed the petition to save the centre from closure we obviously would like nothing better than for those same people to express their desire for the centre to remain in its present format with or without the involvement of Trafford Leisure and maybe that will be what the majority of the community do wish for.
Who knows what people will suggest but the beauty of this is that everybody will be able to take advantage of having a voice to be able to influence which direction the centre will take but whatever the outcome we're quite sure that the Labour Council will base its decision on whatever is best for the community.
We would like to make it clear that this is solely with regards to the future of the centre and is in no way connected with the request made to Trafford Leisure for a community meeting.
