Reduce air pollution from cars waiting at level crossings in Trafford

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

We would like to ask Trafford Council to ensure that signs are provided at the level crossings in Hale, on Navigation Road and on Deansgate Lane, asking drivers to switch off their engines while waiting at the barriers.

If car engines are not switched off then the air pollution affects everyone nearby including the car drivers themselves. The car drivers will also save money by switching off if their engines are left running for more than 10 seconds.

The damage to health from air pollution is being increasingly recognized and it affects everyone to some degree. Allowing engines to remain running while vehicles are not moving is a completely unnecessary form of pollution.

Please sign this petition if you care about the air you breathe!

If we can get 500 signatures we can raise the issue at a council meeting and put pressure on them for something to be done.

In order for the petition to be valid you must live or work in the Trafford area so please put your home postcode if you live in Trafford or your work postcode if you work in Trafford.
