For many years the intersections of Nairn & Centre Road  as well as Elginfield & Centre Road in the Municipality of North Middlesex have been the locations of numerous accidents and near misses.  Although these roads are the jurisdiction of the County of Middlesex, the Mayor and Members of Council for the Municipality of North Middlesex  have not adequately advocated on behalf of its citizens/users of these roads to demand something be done to make these intersections safer. The only time these intersections are the subject of limited discussions at Council is in a reactive matter after accidents have occurred and local citizens relay their frustration with the lack of action Council appears to be taken. To date NO additional safety devices have been added  whatsoever at these intersections.  In the last month there has been continual Motor Vehicle Collisions  at Nairn & Centre Roads. Although it is acknowledged that distracted and bad  driver behaviour is likely a high contributing  factor to these accidents the fact that no changes to the existing  safety devices have been  installed  at these intersections is appalling and  beyond frustrating by all users of these roads.

The time is now that we demand our locally elected members of council in North Middlesex make it their priority and advocate to the County of Middlesex that change is needed now for new safety devices such as traffic lights or roundabout be installed at these intersections in our Municipality.
