Larkfield Road in East Northport Needs a Traffic Study.

As traffic increases it's time for our Town Board to address this

issue. It's been years since this has been done. Traffic Lights and

timing need to be modernized including turning signals. Using the

Newsday Dangerous Roads Map, from Larkfield Rd at Jericho Tpke to

the five corners in 2023, I counted 90 accidents and in 2024 90 accidents.

Facts-Larkfield Road is heaviest travelled road in our Township.

               We have no e-bikes laws for our municipality.

                We lack Traffic Enforcement.

               We have no handicapped parking spaces in the downtown

               area on Larkfield Rd.

               Safety should be the upmost priority for our community,

               including our Children, our Crossing Guards , our Seniors. 

               Walkability needs to be improved from the municipal parking

               lot  between 9th and 10th Avenue. 

               All crosswalks and the railroad track markings need to be repainted.     

 

               ** Five Corners refers to the end of Larkfield Rd going north**

                                 (Bellerose-Larkfield-Vernon Valley-Laurel Road.)
