How many times has Highway 6 been shutdown in 2022 alone?  How many people have been seriously injured or lost their life due to the intersections along Highway 6 in between Caledonia and Hamilton Ontario?

We are specifically talking about Haldibrook Rd and Highway 6 near Caledonia.

Countless times we have all seen it.  We’ve all almost witnessed an accident from cross traffic at this intersection due to speed, lack of sight, lack of patience, indecisive decision making or simply just not paying attention.

For many years we have all complained to each other through social media, we’ve talked to our government representatives and still nothing has come from it.  

It is time for us, The People of Haldimand County to step up and tell our government,

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

To start, a warning sign should be erected in every direction informing travelers of the high collision rate at the major intersection.  This is the first step to attempt to give drivers notice to the cross traffic and the ability to stay alert in the area.

Ultimately, we would like to see traffic signals installed at the intersection to remove pressure put on drivers during rush-hour traffic that are trying to merge onto Highway 6 at speeds of 80 to 100 KPH after crossing 4 lanes of traffic.

No one wants the travel time to increase between Hamilton and Caledonia, but it’s a small price to pay for someone you know and love to make it home rather then being T boned by some douche bag on a cell phone.
