Residents and drivers in Elbert County are concerned about the safety of the intersection at Calhoun Falls Highway (SR-72) and Mobley Hill Road.

This area has experienced repeated accidents, creating an ongoing risk for serious injury or worse. High-speed traffic along SR-72 makes it extremely difficult for drivers to safely turn or cross from Mobley Hill Road or Petersburg Road. A traffic signal would also slow traffic coming from the more rural highway area and heading into town. 

We are requesting that the Georgia Department of Transportation conduct a traffic signal warrant study and take appropriate action to improve safety at this intersection.

Our goal is simple: prevent further accidents and protect the lives of those who travel this road daily.
