The speed limit along Sportsman's Road is 30mph but this doesn't stop fatal accidents. 6 cats killed in one year. It's a residential road with social and private housing opposite fields where domestic and wild animals are drawn to and from. It's a fact that drivers will go up to 10mph. faster than the limit and this is a long straight road that encourages speed. We get it, but chicane traffic calming prevents this. It's a responsible way of dealing with traffic where it's not overly heavy but too fast presenting real danger for animals and people. Chicane traffic calming works and planting can not only make it look good but give more of the feel that this place is occupied. We don't want to have to scrape cats and wild animals up off the road anymore taking the news to grieving owners. We want the town and county council to take action, act responsibly and protect everyone who lives along, close to and uses this road.
