The traffic calming through Bierton has now been going on since Aug 2024, when the works started. There have been numerous accidents, near misses and road rage. The current layout restricts residents accessing their property, and the constant horn beeping and dangerous speeds people are travelling to avoid having to wait in traffic is very clear to see.

The chicanes/islands  are too close  All of the above are forcing drivers to speed up, drive on pavements and grass verges just to get through, putting lives of pedestrians and other road users at risk.

It hasn’t deterred lorries either, there seems to be more traffic, noise and pollution than before with build up of traffic during busy periods which builds up along the new layout. This causes delays for lots of day to day activities.

We have seen various incidents where cars/ lorries have hit signs causing damage and even large HGV have also had issues getting through the carlming due to the width of islands. 

The system that has been added to bierton road is very poor planning. We need to change the road layout and hopefully transport for bucks can see this and before the road is adopted by the council the contractors can pay for the amendments.

Traffic calming is not a bad thing but the execution of this is poor, unsafe
