Dear Trader Joe's, 

We need to talk. I love many things about you, but you have a nasty habit that really concerns me. 

TJ, I can't handle the excessive use of plastic and non-biodegradable waste that you use for packaging your products. I get it, TJ. You want to sell your produce by unit instead of pound, and for some strange reason you need to package almost everything with plastic that cannot be recycled. 

Well TJ, I'm urging others to join me in signing a petition that will ask you to change your packaging in products. The only "away" we have for me to throw the polystyrene tray and the cellophane from my produce is someone's backyard. We don't have an "away" in the world. 

It's depressing when I would buy a container of zucchini, and I would have to throw the plastic wrap away because I can't even recycle it. I don't want to associate sadness with you TJ!!!

We already have an island of plastic floating somewhere in the ocean, and I'm sure you want to reduce your impact in that TJ.

Waste is depressing, TJ. Be the hero I know you can be. I really don't want to break up, but some of your competition is looking mighty tempting.
