Just in the past year, Augusta has unfortunately had two stores close, causing vacancies in two locations that could potentially house one of America's favorite grocers, Trader Joe's. These being Sear's and AC Moore. Trader Joe's has been providing quality products to neighborhoods since 1967. Whenever possible, they purchase their products direct from suppliers, buy in volume, and pass on the savings to their customers. To find incredibly nutritious food at such astounding prices is something that everyone in our community can benefit from greatly. Trader Joe's also accepts SNAP benefits so these quality products are available to everyone.

People from all over the state now travel to the Portland location to shop. To have a location in Central Maine would serve as a fantastic convenience to those in Northern Maine who are unable to make the trek to Portland. The opening of a store such as Trader Joe's would open up many job opportunities as well.
